Dr. Tulzer graduated from the Medical School at the University of Vienna, Austria in 1983. Following his residency in General Medicine and Pediatrics in Austria, he trained in Pediatric Cardiology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, at Children’s Hospital of Boston, Harvard Medical School (interventional cardiology), at the University Hospitals in Bonn, Germany and Vienna, Austria.
In 1995 he founded the Children’s Heart Center in Linz and became Head of Pediatric Cardiology at the Children’s Hospital of Linz. He built up a state-of-the-art Pediatric Cardiology Programme along with a fetal cardiology service. Now about 400 cardiac surgeries are performed here and about the name number of cardiac catheterizations. Since the year 2000 all kinds of fetal intracardiac procedures are offered in his center. To date with >200 conducted fetal procedures the largest program in Europe.
